Where's The Line Between 'Cancel Culture' & Diversity? Ft. Robert Derringer
May 16, 2023 Season 1 Episode 19
Jordan Yates

In this episode of the podcast, host Jordan Yates interviews Robert Derringer, a manufacturing professional & host of his own podcast 'The Humpty Project', about his experience navigating cancel culture and diversity in the manufacturing industry as a white man.

Robert shares how the media overhypes the idea of 'canceling' his demographic and that in reality, he hasn't actually faced legitimate hardship. If anything, these conversations have opened his eyes to the privileges he may have unknowingly experienced and now he is working harder than ever to support the efforts towards diversity and inclusion.

Robert notes how he has learned that his voice 'lands different' amongst his demographic and utilizes it to be in a position to be an ally to the DEI cause. He is passionate about learning to better himself and the organizations he is a part of to be more inclusive, sensitive, and aware of how he can be a part of the change.
